A team of students from Virginia Commonwealth University are developing Bebé Listo, which translates to “Baby Ready”. Bebe Listo is a prenatal healthcare website/app culturally tailored to Hispanic and Latinx parents-to-be. With a focus on empowerment through education the website/app aims to explicitly address linguistic, cultural, and health literacy barriers that may impede the uptake and effectiveness of prenatal health information among Hispanic and Latinx parents-to-be.

The Brise-Solette enables neonatal care providers to precisely control the amount of light received by premature infants hospitalized in NICU chambers, positively impacting the critical cognitive, optical and overall physical development of this most vulnerable infant population. The main aim for Brise-Solette team, made up of students from Virginia Commonwealth University, is to help new born babies spend less time in the NICU and more time at where they belong - with their families at home.
EasyDraft, founded by a student at Old Dominion University, attempts to gameify engineering principles through the use of fun, engaging, and educational video games. With a focus on teaching drafting for middle school students the goal is to bring the untapped market of gameified learning to fruition.
FinX is developing an interactive and engaging mobile application for college students, millennials and beginners to learn how to invest in the financial markets. The FinX Mobile app, designed by a student at Virginia Wesleyan University, offers creative video content, a virtual portfolio for each user, a social media feature as well as the ability for users to compete in live weekly investing competitions for cash and prizes.

Pocket Protector aims to prevent and/or eliminate the occurrence of pocket hematoma a common post pacemaker/ICD operation complication. The Pocket Protector device applies pressure to the implantation site to prevent pocket hematomas from forming; or reducing them after formation and helping send patients home sooner. This proactive approach can benefit all 1.2 million patients who have this surgery each year, thanks to an innovative team of student from Virginia Commonwealth University.

VINETEQ’s mission is to optimize the agricultural spraying process associated with vineyards by utilizing Artificial Intelligence and data analytics in a software-based solution. This service, founded by a team of students from James Madison University, will act as an advising unit to prompt vineyard owners/managers with ways of performing the best spraying techniques using data from spray charts, weather patterns, geographic location, disease models, etc.
